    Non-invasive spinal therapy

    Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia causes widespread pain, tenderness, fatigue, and often sleep disruption. It is a condition of central sensitisation — meaning the nervous system becomes amplified in its pain response. Spinal therapy for fibromyalgia needs to be very gentle, predictable, and respectful of tender points and sensory sensitivity. Virginia's calm, methodical approach is well suited to fibromyalgia — she works within your comfort zone, tracks your response carefully, and never rushes the process.

    Frequently asked questions

I'm very sensitive to touch. Can I still have spinal therapy?
Yes. Virginia is experienced in working with people who have heightened pain sensitivity. She will start very gently and progress only at your pace. ASMI involves no deep pressure or forceful techniques — it works through gentle, rhythmic mobilisation.
Will treatment cause a fibromyalgia flare?
Virginia actively works to avoid this. Sessions are kept short and gentle, and she will check in with you throughout. Some mild muscle soreness in the 24–48 hours after a first session is possible, but a significant flare is something she will do her best to prevent.
Is spinal therapy a cure for fibromyalgia?
No — fibromyalgia is a complex, chronic condition and there is currently no cure. What spinal therapy can offer is a meaningful reduction in local muscle tension and pain, which can improve quality of life and complement your other management strategies.
